The DeKalb Animal Services Improvement Project (DASIP) is based largely on recommendations from the Animals Services Task Force (ASTF). DASIP represents DeKalb County’s goal to improve the quality of life for animals. Strategies to reach this goal include promoting good choices by pet owners; improved adoption/rescue activities; staff restructuring; outsourcing of key functions; promotion of strategic relationships; citizen involvement; improved enforcement tools and practices; and enhancing facilities used to institutionally house or manage companion animals in DeKalb County.
