Board of Commissioners to Meet in Dunwoody

DECATUR, Ga. - In an attempt to improve communication and transparency, the Board of Commissioners decided to hold several meetings at night and outside of Decatur. State law requires that Board of Commissioners convene its regular commission meetings within the county seat, Decatur.

However, a Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled to be held in the Dunwoody City Council chambers at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.

At this meeting, there will be a 30-minute public comment period at 6:30 p.m. for citizens to address the Board of Commissioners. Speakers will be limited to three minutes. The agenda for that meeting has not been established yet, but will be published here: www.dekalbcountyga.gov/board-commissioners/board-commissioners

Typically, a Committee of the Whole meeting is an opportunity to hear in depth reports from staff or outside experts and establishes the agenda for the next commission regular business meeting.

Dunwoody City Hall is located at 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 103.

Additional evening Committee of the Whole meetings will be held outside of the city of Decatur in June and October. The locations are to be announced.
