DeKalb County Announces Benchmark Reached toward Ending Veteran Homelessness

DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County Interim CEO Lee May will announce Thursday, Dec. 8, that DeKalb has reached an important milestone in its journey to end veteran homelessness.

The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, Department of Housing and Urban Development and Department of Veterans’ Affairs have confirmed that DeKalb has developed and implemented the infrastructure and systems to ensure veterans experiencing homelessness can receive quick access to services and housing.

Media and the public are invited to attend the formal announcement, which will feature an array of speakers to discuss the progress DeKalb has achieved, as well as recognizes community partners integral in housing DeKalb’s homeless veterans.
