Destination DeKalb County -
Imagine the Possibilities
If you are visiting us, prepare to enjoy a host of activities that will stimulate your mind, engage your body and indulge your urge to shop!
Are you ready for some outdoor activities? Pack your athletic shoes and bring lots of energy! We boast that DeKalb has more than 30 parks and recreation centers, swimming pools, tennis courts and a myriad of nature and walking trails for you to explore. Two of our crown jewels are Davidson Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, which is 2,000 acres of wetlands, pine and oak forests and the Stone Mountain Mountaintop Trail, which is the largest piece of exposed granite in the world.
Not really big on the outdoors? Spend the afternoon at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, where history comes alive. Take a moment to explore cultural treasures or experience the thrill of a film in the IMAx theatre. Equally, the Michael C. Carlos Museum and the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center are wonderful attractions that will feed your brain. There are also an array of stores, fine shops, restaurants and antique shops to check out. For a full list of attractions and upcoming events, visit the DeKalb Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. |
