Probate Court

Judge Bedelia C Hargrove presides over DeKalb County Probate Court. The Probate Court has jurisdiction over the probate of wills, administration of estates, appointment of guardians and conservators for incapacitated adults as well as children, and mental health commitments. The Probate Court also issues marriage licenses and weapons carry licenses and performs a number of other administrative duties. Standard forms and probate resources are available at gaprobate.gov.

Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Note: Please arrive by 4:00 p.m. to allow sufficient time for processing. Filings received after 4:00 p.m. will be stamp filed and processed on the next business day.

Note: Customers filing Lay Affidavits (Orders to Apprehend) must arrive by 3:30 p.m. to allow sufficient time for processing.
