 HOMELESSNESS IN DEKALB COUNTY
A Homelessness Continuum of Care is defined as a local collaboration of government, nonprofit, business and community stakeholders, organized to plan for and deliver housing and services that meet the specific needs of people who are homeless and at-risk of homelessness as they move toward stable housing and self-sufficiency.

Prevent homelessness whenever possible.  When homelessness cannot be prevented, ensure that it is brief and non-recurring.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR DEKALB'S HOMELESS

  • Coordinated Entry to assess, match, and refer individuals and households to agencies that can provide assistance. (404-687-3500) 
  • Financial Assistance, including security deposits, utility deposits, and rent to assist individuals and households in moving to housing. 
  • Prevention services to prevent evictions and provide arrearage payments for rent and utilities.
  • Permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals with disabilities. 
  • Case Management to assist individuals in developing plans for a path to self-sufficiency.
