Property FAQ

Q: CAN I CHANGE MY PROPERTY ADDRESS IF I THINK IT’S INCORRECT?
A: No, all addresses are assigned by our GIS addressing coordinators. Addresses must meet the NENA/URISA (National Emergency Number Association/Urban & Regional Information Systems Association) standards of addressing. If you have any questions please contact our addressing coordinators, Cheltzie Brown or Yetunde Komolafe.

Combination/Separation/Re-parcel

1) DeKalb GIS requires that all parcels involved in the map change must have matching (verbatim) ownership.

2) DeKalb GIS requires that all re-parcel / boundary line adjustments map changes must display all owner name(s) on the coversheet as per DeKalb Tax Records.

NOTE: DeKalb GIS requires owner’s acknowledgement block & signature line for each owner of any boundary line agreement map updates.

Addressing Requests

The GIS Department requests that all information be provided in digital format (Microsoft Excel). This will allow the data to be processed within 3-5 business days. Information submitted in hard copy format (fax, PDF or standard letter) may take longer to process, 8-10 business days. To ensure accuracy, the GIS Department requests a site plan / layout of units within the complex.
