Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO)
The Office of the CIO, led by William Jones, provides strategic leadership and technical direction for DeKalb County’s Department of Innovation and Technology. With nearly 30 years of experience across state, federal, and private sectors, CIO Jones brings extensive expertise in IT operations, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and digital transformation.

Under his guidance, DeKalb County's Department of Innovation and Technology is dedicated to providing convenient access to county services and information through upgraded web interfaces, enhanced security measures, and increased transparency. This includes the development of user-friendly portals that place information at residents' fingertips. The department's commitment to innovation has been nationally recognized, achieving a No. 2 ranking in the nation for its innovative use of technology, with aspirations to implement next-level strategies to attain the top position.
