DeKalb County to Plant 150 Trees in March Through ReLeaf DeKalb

ReLeaf DeKalb, a partnership between DeKalb County and Trees Atlanta, has enjoyed a successful launch for the 2023 planting season by planting a total of 214 trees at the following public rights-of-way:

 

  • January 14 – N Stone Mountain Lithonia Rd: 60 trees planted
  • January 21 – N Hairston Rd: 31 trees planted
  • February 04 – Memorial Dr: 50 trees planted
  • February 05 – Wade Walker Park: 73 trees planted

 

During the month of March, 150 more trees are projected to be planted in the following public rights-of-way:

 

March 11 – N. Hairston Rd.

Meetup Location: 6011 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Ga 30083

Event Duration: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Planting Goal: 50 trees

March 25 – S. Stone Mountain Lithonia Rd.

Meetup Location: 1152 S. Stone Mountain Lithonia Rd., Lithonia, Ga 30058

Event Duration: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Planting Goal: 100 trees

 

DeKalb County recently began its second year of ReLeaf DeKalb. ReLeaf DeKalb II encompasses two components: Residential Front Yards and Public Properties. Planting trees increases DeKalb’s tree canopy and enhances ecosystem benefits.
