DeKalb County Public Library announced today that three libraries received $500 each in grant funding and materials awarded by the STAR Library Network and HHMI Tangles Bank Studios through their Flight Path program. The Flight Path program aims to educate the public about bird migration, promote bird health and safety, and encourage local communities to get to know their local birds. This program is the first campaign in the Spark of Science @ My Library initiative that was launched by STAR Library Network and HHMI Tangled Bank Studios.
The DeKalb County Public Library will use the funds and materials from the Flight Path grant to implement engaging programs for youth and adults alike. Three programs are scheduled from October to December at the library locations below. Each program will show the documentary, Wild Hope: Building for Birds, and participants will decorate bird decals to make windows safer for birds.
