DeKalb’s Friends of Shoal Creek Park I and Park Pride to Host Earth Day Volunteer Project April 23

Dekalb County

In celebration of Earth Day, DeKalb Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs’ Friends of Shoal Creek Park I and Park Pride team up to host a volunteer project on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shoal Creek Park I, 3642 Glenwood Road, Decatur, GA 30032.

The public is invited to volunteer alongside neighbors at the Shoal Creek Park I to keep our community beautiful while enjoying the outdoors. The workday will target saving trees from English ivy, clearing vegetation and litter pick up.

Participants are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and sleeves to avoid any scratches or accidental contact with poison ivy. Park Pride will provide work gloves and tools.
