DKPD to Host 2024 Youth Academy

Participation is free

The DeKalb County Police Department will host the 2024 Youth Academy on April 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Police Headquarters, 1960 W. Exchange Pl., Tucker, Ga.

This is an opportunity for DeKalb County youth ages 13-17 to learn how the police department works. During the one-day in-person program, students will be given an overview of the department’s various units, including K9, SWAT, Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene, and more. Participants will also learn what to do when they encounter the police.

The 2024 Youth Academy is a free event, and participants will receive lunch and a goody bag. Parents or guardians can request an application by contacting Sgt. Jenkins at hjenkins@dekalbcountyga.gov or 404-840-3225.

The community is invited to attend and provide input on the results of the master plan.
