Crews are replacing aging infrastructure

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continue with Phase II of the Peachtree Boulevard Water Transmission Main Replacement Project. DeKalb County will hold a meeting to provide additional information on Phase II on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom at: https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/86001516874

Phase II runs along Peachtree Boulevard from Malone Drive to Carver Drive.

Crews have completed Phase I (Malone Drive) and have installed 1,548 linear feet of 12-inch and 1,820 linear feet of 36-inch pipe, thus far. The 11,000 linear foot project is expected to be completed in December 2027.

This project is part of the DeKalb County $4.27 billion capital improvement program to improve capacity and service of the watershed systems serving the community.

Normal construction hours will be from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. An increase in construction-related noise and traffic during work hours should be expected.
