Event marks the official launch, bringing a unique gourmet pizza experience to the community
Ryan Cameron and chef and restaurant chain owner Erica Barrett are announcing the grand opening of the Dough Boy Pizza Co. with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, cohosted by Commissioner Lorraine Cochran Johnson and the DeKalb Chamber. The event will take place at 11 a.m. at The Gallery at South DeKalb Mall, 2801 Candler Rd., Decatur, Ga. 30034.
The Dough Boy Pizza Co. is a culinary venture, offering authentic Neapolitan pizza. The business brings a new culinary delight to the community, offering a unique pizza experience with crust imported from Italy. The franchise is the 11th to open in the U.S.
“Ryan could have opened his pizza company anywhere, but he chose DeKalb County,” said Commissioner Cochran-Johnson. The ribbon-cutting event is monumental, and I look forward to many more successful years to come. South DeKalb Mall is in the process of a major revitalization, and I consider Dough Boy Pizza a part of the new south DeKalb. I hope his presence encourages other small business owners to look at South DeKalb for their business location because we need more food options. I am eternally grateful to Ryan for answering the call.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be attended by local dignitaries, influencers, and members of the community. Guests will have the opportunity to sample the unique pizza varieties that Cameron and his team have crafted.
“Decatur holds a special place in Dough Boy Pizza Co.'s heart, and as we celebrate our grand opening at The Gallery at South DeKalb Mall, it's not just about pizza—it's about community and flavor,” Cameron said. “Choosing DeKalb County was intentional, and as we cut the ribbon, it's a toast to the unique pizza journey we're embarking on together. Here's to savoring the goodness, the growth, and being a part of the exciting transformation of south DeKalb.”
Cameron is a two-time Emmy Award winner and member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame and the National Black Radio Hall of Fame. He currently is heard over the airwaves with the No. 1 afternoon show on WAMJ MAJIC 107.5/97.5. Cameron recently launched the nationally syndicated “Ryan Cameron Uncensored Show.” He is the trailblazing first African American public address announcer for the Atlanta Hawks franchise and currently the announcer for the Atlanta Falcons and the official voice of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
