Construction to install new water main pipes
The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will hold a second virtual community meeting for the Panola Road Water Main Replacement Project on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/86950213231.
If you attended the first meeting held earlier this month, it is not necessary to attend this one, as the same information will be presented.
The Panola Road Water Main Replacement Project began on Oct. 13, 2025, and includes replacing approximately 11,400 linear feet of ductile iron water pipe in two phases:
- Phase I: From Salem Road east to Big Miller Road, then north to Panola Road, ending at Minola Drive/Fairington Road.
 - Phase II: From the intersection of Snapfinger and Panola Roads, continuing northeast on Panola Road—including Twin Lakes Drive—ending at Salem Road.

Phase I is expected to last approximately 11 months (October 2025–September 2026), and Phase II approximately 10 months (January 2026–October 2026), weather permitting.
This project is part of DeKalb County’s $4.27 billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to enhance capacity, reliability, and service within the County’s watershed system.
Normal construction hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Residents and businesses should anticipate increased construction-related noise and traffic during work hours.
Information can be obtained by calling the DWM Project Information Line at 1-800-986-1108 or emailing projectinfo@dekalbcountyga.gov with questions.
