Mother & Son Sneaker Ball
Join us to celebrate a night of connection, style, and unforgettable memories at the Mother & Son Sneaker Ball. This special event brings mothers and their sons together for an evening of music, dancing, and fun where formal attire meets fresh kicks. It’s more than just a dance; it’s a chance to bond, laugh, and create moments that will last a lifetime. Don’t miss this opportunity to build memories and strengthen connections in a fun, uplifting atmosphere.
The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will partner with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning and the Happy Helping Program to provide meals that service youths ages 18 and under during the summer. The program will run June 8 – July 17.
The Department is encouraging agencies to apply now to participate as a distribution site.
To qualify as a site, 50 percent of children served must meet the income guidelines for free and reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are members of households that receive food stamp benefits or Aid for Dependent Children (AFDC) assistance automatically qualify. Funding for the Summer Food Service Program is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and targets children up to age 18.
