In the wake of unprecedented gun violence and increasing challenges to home ownership due to concerning market dynamics, DeKalb County District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson recently introduced two resolutions to the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners addressing important issues plaguing communities—not only in DeKalb County, but across the United States—the housing crisis and violence.

This is an opportunity for DeKalb County residents to learn how their police department works. During the four-week virtual program, which will begin August 24, participants will be given a departmental overview, which will include crisis intervention, police scenarios, use of force policies, and more. Participants must be at least 21 years old, live or work in DeKalb County, possess no prior felonies and consent to a background check.
