Commissioner Ted Terry to Hold ‘Talks with Ted’ Virtual Community Meeting. DeKalb County Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry invites residents to join him for his first community meeting on Wednesday, March 31. Commissioner Terry will discuss his four priorities around housing, urban agriculture, the environment and what it means to be a welcoming county.

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections meeting for the purpose of conducting its normal monthly business will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. This meeting will be conducted via teleconference (Zoom). Simultaneous public access to the meeting will be available via livestream on DCTV’s UStream channel https://video.ibm.com/channel/dctv-channel-23.

The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance Saturday, March 27, during DeKalb County Government’s monthly food distribution to fight COVID-19 food insecurity. Courtesy of Mr. Bunny, residents will receive a dozen Georgia Grown Grade A eggs, in addition to the normal fare of one 20-pound box of fruit and vegetables and a 10-pound package of chicken hindquarters.

On Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 3 p.m., Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson will host a virtual event honoring those women who have made significant contributions to the 5th Commission District in DeKalb County. Angela Rye, political commentator, analyst and attorney, will be the inspirational speaker and Sen. Raphael Warnock’s state director, Meredith Lilly, will serve as the mistress of ceremony for the event.

DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs is partnering with the American Red Cross to host several blood drives from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 31 and in the month of May at various recreation centers throughout DeKalb. The American Red Cross has developed an operating plan that meets the guidelines for the CDC and local health officials.
