The Snapfinger Advance Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion includes a variety of construction projects such as demolishing an existing clarifier, and constructing new headworks, aeration basins, membrane bioreactors, chemical building and dewatering facilities.
The following construction activities must be performed to complete the aforementioned projects:
Blasting
A process utilizing controlled explosives that break down or shatter large hard rock so it is easily removed.
Excavating
The removal/relocation of earth (soil) by means of digging/scooping.
Demolition
The tearing down or destruction of buildings and structures.
Hauling
The transport of construction related materials to and from a construction site.
Backfilling
The process of refilling an area with soil or rock that has been excavated.
Grading
The process of leveling the earth (soil) in preparation for the construction of a structure.
