Has your income been negatively affected by the COVID-19 health emergency? DeKalb is offering Covid Hardship Installment Plan(CHIP) designed to help utility customers manage the negative financial impacts of the COVID-19 health emergency. If you enter into an IPA and make all installment payments and pay current utility charges on time, you will not be subject to disconnection.
If you are having difficulty paying your account balance in full as a result of COVID-19, you may apply for an installment payment agreement on-line below or contact customer service 404-378-4475 to discuss an installment agreement in order to satisfy the past due balance.
In order to qualify, you must be the account holder and legal resident of the property as property owner (based on property tax records and homestead exemption) or lessee (based on a current executed lease agreement).
The customer must provide a legally valid picture ID with the IPA (not required with this application). Installments for lessees may not extend beyond the end of the lease with renewals.
The DeKalb CHIP will allow you to become current with your utility account without risk of disconnection.
You MUST make all payments of current bills and installments timely, by the due date throughout the installment period. If not, the remaining installment balance becomes due and payable immediately. If you close your account for any reason, the remaining installment balance becomes due and payable immediately.
