Sean Garrett

Sean Garrett is an Assistant County Attorney in the Law Department’s Administration Group, where he provides legal counsel to county agencies and officials about the Open Meetings Act, the Open Records Act, Robert’s Rules of Order, and board appointments. His practice includes representing county agencies with the general public and representing the County’s interest in federal and state court proceedings. Prior to joining the Law Department, Mr. Garrett was the Deputy Assistant District Attorney of the appellate unit for the Douglas County District Attorney, prosecuted felony cases for the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, and was an attorney for the University of Georgia Press and the Peabody Awards.

Mr. Garrett earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he specialized in Intellectual Property Law. He also earned B.A.s in History and Political Science from the University of Georgia.
