Bennett Davis Bryan is a Senior Assistant County Attorney in the Law Department’s Development Group, where he provides legal counsel to several county agencies and officials, including the Planning & Sustainability Department and the Board of Registrations and Elections. His practice includes drafting contracts, providing advisory opinions, and representing county agencies and officials in federal and state court proceedings. Prior to joining the Law Department, Mr. Bryan practiced business and real estate litigation at an AMLAW top 50 law firm and prosecuted felony cases for the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Bryan earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was an editor of the Georgia Law Review. He also earned his B.A. and M.B.A. from Piedmont College and earned a graduate certificate in strategic management from Harvard University. Mr. Bryan served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and currently serves as an instructor at Emory Law School and Piedmont College. Mr. Bryan earned the DeKalb Law Department’s 2015 Attorney of the Year award and was a member of the Leadership DeKalb Class of 2016.
