CEO Thurmond’s Proposed Retention Bonuses for DeKalb Employees goes to Board of Commissioners for Nov. 8 Vote

All employees would be eligible for up to $500 in vaccination incentives

 

On Nov. 1, CEO Michael Thurmond’s proposal for one-time $1,500 retention bonuses for non-sworn frontline employees and $1,000 retention bonuses for regular non-sworn employees was unanimously approved by the Employee Relations & Public Safety Committee (ERPS).

The proposal is scheduled to go to the full Board of Commissioners for a vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The $1,500 retention bonus will be provided to frontline employees in multiple departments, including, but not limited to, Watershed Management, Sanitation, Library, Parks and Roads and Drainage. All other non-sworn employees would receive a $1,000 retention bonus.

Additionally, the ERPS Committee approved the CEO’s proposal for $1.9 million for a second round of DeKalb Employee Vaccinations incentives. Employees who provide documentation that they have received COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters and/or flu shots will be eligible for incentives of up to $500 per person.
