Crews to Repair Water Main Along DeKalb Industrial Way

DECATUR, Ga.—DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews are scheduled to cut service to a portion of a 30-inch water main at DeKalb Industrial Way and East Ponce de Leon Road around noon, Friday, Feb. 23.

Crews are set to repair a water main break which occurred earlier this month. The main will be drained over the weekend and the repair is scheduled to take place on Monday, Feb. 26.

No customers are expected lose service. Water customers will be serviced by several feeder lines while the main is isolated. During this time, residents and businesses may experience low water pressure or brown water from service lines.

Turning on the tap for a few minutes and flushing the lines should remedy color issues. Though unsightly, brown water is not a health hazard.
