DECATUR, Ga. –DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) is reminding DeKalb residents and businesses that the use of water for ornamental purposes, such as fountains, reflecting pools and waterfalls, is prohibited in a Level 2 drought. Per the state code, all water features should be turned off, drained and unutilized until drought restrictions are reduced by the state.

DWM, as the water supplier, is required by Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division to enforce drought requirements. Enforcement actions are now being implemented for repeat or significant violations and can include fines or termination of water service, as warranted.
