What:              County officials are hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly-constructed 2.2-mile segment of the Michelle Obama Trail, which includes installation of a 12-foot-wide path primarily consisting of concrete and sections of a wooden boardwalk and two steel truss bridges.

This $3.9 million project was funded by the DeKalb Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), Georgia Department of Transportation and the PATH Foundation.  

DeKalb County will receive an estimated $388 million in SPLOST revenue over a six-year period to improve county roads, infrastructure, libraries, parks, and public safety. For more information about DeKalb County SPLOST, visit www.dekalbsplost.com.
