Notice of April 18 Special Elections Eligibility

DECATUR, Ga. – The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections is reminding DeKalb voters that the special elections being held on April 18 are for voters who reside in Sixth Congressional District or Stonecrest Municipal Districts 2, 4 or 5. Only voters who reside in these geographical districts are eligible to vote.

Voters who are represented by Congressman Henry (Hank) Johnson of the Fourth Congressional District or Congressman John Lewis of the Fifth Congressional District are not eligible vote on April 18 in the congressional special election.

The polling places located in the Fourth and Fifth Congressional Districts will not be open on April 18 unless they are located in the applicable Stonecrest districts. 

Please refer to the “Current Election Information” section of www.dekalbvotes.com to see the list of precincts that will be open for voting on April 18. 

Voters who are unsure of their eligibility should check online at “Georgia My Vote Page” at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do, by email at Voterreg@dekalbcountyga.gov  or by telephone at 404-298-4020. 

Advance voting for both special elections is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, April 14, at the DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections’ main office at 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 300, Decatur.

Additionally, a satellite site for advance voting in the Sixth Congressional District special election is open at the Dunwoody Library through Friday, April 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Dunwoody Library is located at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody.  

There will be no voting on Saturday, April 15, or Monday, April 17.
