Student Artists Featured in 2017 Art Calendar Contest Award Ceremony

DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond and the DeKalb Board of Commissioners honored 12 elementary school students from DeKalb County whose artistic masterpieces were selected for the DeKalb Department of Watershed Management 2017 Art Calendar Contest.

During the Jan. 10 Board of Commissioners meeting, the students participated in an award ceremony in their honor.  The purpose of the calendar contest is to promote awareness of the importance of water conservation for a healthy way of life and future sustainability.  The theme for this year’s contest is “Your Water – To Know It Is To Love It.” 

All DeKalb County elementary schools, public and private, were invited to participate in the annual calendar contest. The student artists selected for the 2017 calendar are as follows:
