  • Acquired more than 3,500 acres
  • Increased the County's park and greenspace acreage by more than 90%
  • Increased County parkland and greenspace from 5.4 acres per 1,000 residents in 2000 to more than 10.2 acres per 1,000 residents currently

More than 1,200 property nominations provided from public input.

Primary criteria for site selection:
  • Improve existing parks and natural areas
  • Fill voids in the overall park and greenspace system throughout the County
  • Preserve sensitive natural resources
  • Provide connectivity through greenway corridors
  • Provide civic spaces for community gathering
