Director's Corner - Current News

The county is currently working on launching an enhanced video surveillance project.  This is a public-private partnership that will create and maintain a seamless network of video surveillance throughout DeKalb County for effective investigation and prosecution of criminal behavior.

So far, Director Miller has presented this vision to the Conley Area Business Association and the Memorial Drive Merchants Association.  This new wave of technology is designed to enhance efforts to detect, investigate and prevent crime.  Meetings are planned for several business groups throughout the county.

With support from CEO Burrell Ellis, District 4 Commissioner Sharon Barnes-Sutton, Super District 7 Commissioner Stan Watson, State Representative Michelle Hensen, Bettye Davis, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce President Leonardo McClarty and a host of other business and civic leaders, this new wave of crime-fighting technology will put eyes all across the county.  "24/7, these cameras will see what citizens, business owners and police officers can't, giving us another tool in our arsenal against crime," says Director Miller."
