Department Directors - Keisha Smith

With nearly two decades of progressive leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, Keisha Smith has a background with significant experience in strategic planning and operations management in complex organizations.
Alison Weissinger was named director of the DeKalb County Public Library (DCPL) in 2011, and oversees all activities of 22 DeKalb County branch libraries and an administrative center. Weissinger also works closely with the DeKalb Library Foundation and the Georgia Center for the Book program.

Calvin C. Hicks, Jr. is the Chief Appraiser for the DeKalb County Board of Tax Assessors. As Chief Appraiser, Calvin oversees the training and development of appraiser and clerical support staff in completing ad valorem appraisals in the county, and ensures such appraisals and assessments are performed in accordance with state, county and departmental requirements.
Stacy Grear is director of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for DeKalb County. As director of GIS, Grear oversees the development of GIS and property mapping functions, administers the department's budget and directs the activities of staff.
Chuck Ellis serves as the director of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs. Mr. Ellis oversees 127 parks consisting of 6,506.85 acres of parkland and open space, 151 playgrounds, 2 golf courses, 105 tennis courts, 90 pavilions, 158 ball fields, 13 recreational facilities and the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center.
