Amanda Minton is a Legal Secretary, handling the administrative needs of the Law Department’s staff attorneys. Prior to joining the DeKalb County Law Department, she gained 15 years of experience in various legal fields including medical malpractice, white-collar criminal defense, and default services for the mortgage industry.
Brenda Epps is a Senior Legal Secretary at the DeKalb County Law Department. She supports four attorneys who primarily handle the County’s litigation practice. She assists her attorneys by preparing and filing legal pleadings in federal and state courts, drafting responsive discovery materials, maintaining files and other secretarial responsibilities. She also serves as the backup payroll coordinator for the Department.

Nikisha "Niki" McDonald is the Supervising Attorney of the Law Department’s Public Safety Group, where she works closely with the DeKalb County Sheriff and other public safety departments. Her practice includes contract review, providing legal opinions, and defending lawsuits involving allegations of excessive force and other violations of constitutional rights.
John Jones is the Supervising Attorney of the Law Department’s Infrastructure and Development Group. Mr. Jones has served in the Law Department since 2006, where his practice areas of concentration are zoning and land use. He routinely provides legal opinions to county representatives and department heads and represents the county in commercial and residential tax appeals and other litigation.
Laura Johnson is a Deputy County Attorney for the DeKalb County Law Department. She supervises all civil litigation and all employment law matters for DeKalb County Government and various County officials.
