Law Department

Our experienced team of staff attorneys provides comprehensive legal services across various specialties to serve DeKalb County government.

Amanda Minton is a Legal Secretary, handling the administrative needs of the Law Department’s staff attorneys.  Prior to joining the DeKalb County Law Department, she gained 15 years of experience in various legal fields including medical malpractice, white-collar criminal defense, and default services for the mortgage industry.

Brenda Epps is a Senior Legal Secretary at the DeKalb County Law Department.  She supports four attorneys who primarily handle the County’s litigation practice.  She assists her attorneys by preparing and filing legal pleadings in federal and state courts, drafting responsive discovery materials, maintaining files and other secretarial responsibilities.  She also serves as the backup payroll coordinator for the Department.

Nikisha "Niki" L. McDonald (she/her) is the Supervising County Attorney of the Law Department’s Public Safety Group.

Angela D.

William J. Linkous III serves as the County Attorney. In this role, he leads the county's legal team and advises the CEO, Board of Commissioners and senior leadership on legal matters including policy development, contract negotiations, litigation management, and compliance.

The Office of the DeKalb County Attorney serves the citizens of DeKalb County by providing high-quality legal advice to the county and its officials. We support the CEO, Board of Commissioners, department directors, and other county officers, boards, authorities, and employees.
