What is backflow?
On December 30, 2016 DeKalb County began releasing water and sewer statements that were previously withheld from mailing, as there was a concern of the validity of the data contained in the accounts. Generally, these concerns are articulated as “exceptions.”
What are exceptions, and why did DeKalb flag them?
The following tables apply the current DeKalb County water and sewer rates to the average household usage as estimated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA estimates an average household uses 100 gallons of water per day, per person. More info on these calculations can be found on the EPA's website.
No sewer charges are applied to customers who have septic tanks. Actual usage will vary with individual consumption and conservation practices.
