           DEVELOPMENT IN A FLOODPLAIN

All development activities within a floodplain require a permit, must comply with DeKalb County’s floodplain regulations. Click here to access DeKalb County floodplain regulations.

ELEVATION CERTIFICATES

An Elevation Certificate (EC) is the required form by  the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for documentation of elevation information. It is required for the following reasons;

1.    to ensure compliance with floodplain management ordinances

2.    to determine the proper insurance rate

3.    as supporting document to a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA)
