DeKalb Career Pathway Forward Initiative

Focus: Target Population – Individuals who have lost employment as a result of the pandemic.

 

  • C.A.R.E.S funds available to assist DeKalb citizens enrolled in high-demand occupations and were separated from employment due to the pandemic.

  • The DeKalb resident must be in an in-demand occupation training such as Information Technology, Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing or Business Technology and attending an institution on the State’s Eligible Training Provider List.

  • Up to $1,500 available to offset cost of basic needs while they are in training. Basic needs are considered as mortgage assistance, food, utilities and transportation. Funds will be disbursed on a first come First basis once deemed eligible and funding is limited.

  • Must be DeKalb County Residents, 18 years and older who have lost their job due to the pandemic. 

  • The DeKalb resident may or may not be receiving unemployment benefits currently. Proof of Separation due to the pandemic is required.

 

Please note the following documents must be uploaded during the registration process to determine if you qualify:

  1. Proof of residency – State Issued ID, and a utility bill, or some document verifying your address to support the residency requirement
  2. Your school schedule or some other document to support your current attendance
  3. Unemployment Insurance documentation or termination/separation notice verification that your job ended due to COVID-19
