We take integrity and accountability seriously. Below is a partial list of disqualifiers that may prevent you from being selected for the Recruit Firefighter position. Each candidate's background is thoroughly reviewed during the hiring process.
- Felony convictions within the past 10 years
- Not a U.S. citizen
- No high school diploma or GED
- Any domestic violence conviction
- Illegal drug use within 12 months of application or hire
- Sale of illegal drugs
- DUI conviction within the past 3 years
- No valid driver’s license or a suspended/revoked/expired license
- More than 5 moving violations in the past 3 years
- Falsifying or omitting information on the application
- Dishonorable discharge from the military
- Any pending criminal charges
