On December 9, 2025, DeKalb County recognized the importance of our community’s trees through this Arbor Day Proclamation: "Now, therefore, we, the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Commissioners, on behalf of DeKalb County and its more than 780,000 citizens, do hereby proclaim that we celebrate Arbor Day in DeKalb County and urge all residents to celebrate by planting trees, engaging in community conservation efforts, and recommitting to the care and protection of our local environment."
