New Construction*

  

  

 

  • Any new construction of a commercial building must start with a Land Development Permit. For more Information, click the following link on obtaining a Land Development Permit.  
  • The property owner, Developer, architect/engineer or contractor may apply for a New Construction Permit.
  • Once a contractor has been designated, anyone other than the license holder will have to also submit an Authorized Permit Agent Form.

Supplementary Forms

  • Demolition of existing buildings will need to also apply for a LDP and submit an application and 3 plans that comply with the Demolition checklist
  • If a building being constructed is going to have multiple tenants, you must also submit a Shell permit for the exterior shell of the building then permit individually for each tenant/ common area.
  • Restaurants, Take Out, Lounges, Café, Nightclub, and similar occupancies we require a Letter of Entertainment.
  • Any establishment in which food is being served you will need a Health Department Checklist. This includes schools, day cares, churches as well as restaurants and bars. A F.O.G. Review will also be required by Watershed Management.
  • Daycares will need to also submit a Daycare Worksheet.
  • Any sort of Warehouse or building with ample storage is required to submit a Warehouse Commodity Form.

 

  • Residential, for permitting and plan review purposes, includes only Single Family Detached Houses and Duplexes. All other structures are considered Commercial.

Supplementary Forms

  • All new houses will require a Sewer Capacity Evaluation if you are not on septic. Information about getting Water and Sewer service can be found in our Watershed Packet.
  • Homeowners who are taking responsibility of the work on their primary residence instead of a contractor will need to fill out a Homeowner’s Affidavit.
