How to Schedule Inspections
NOTE: You must be the primary applicant who applied for the permit in order to schedule your inspections.
There are currently three ways you can schedule your inspections:
- The E-Permitting Portal
Primary applicants may log into the E-Permitting portal to schedule inspections for their permits.

E-Permitting Portal: Home - CIVICS
- Building Inspections Inbox
Primary Applicants may also utilize the Building Inspections Inbox to email in their inspections. (Please Note: Next-Day inspections through the inbox are not always guaranteed as the influx of emails may hinder our response time.)

- Building Inspection Phone Line
Primary Applicants wishing to speak to someone directly may call in their inspections using our Building Inspections Phone Line. This phone line ensures your questions are answered and can help verify when your inspection date is scheduled as well.
Building Inspection Phone Line: 404-687-2401
(Please Note: The Building Inspections Phone Line is different than our old, automated inspection scheduling phone line listed on Permit Cards as 404-371-3010. The automated inspection scheduling phone line is still currently down for maintenance.)
Third-Party Inspections
DeKalb County is now processing Third-Party Inspection Applications. Starting October 1st, 2025, applicants applying for new Building permits (including HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical permits) will now be required to fill out the Third-Party Inspections Application if they wish to utilize a Third-Party for their inspections. Current projects already permitted in DeKalb County prior to October 1st will not be required to fill out an application, but future projects that will be permitted after said date will be required to adhere to these new guidelines.
All Third-Party Inspections after November 1st, 2025, will be required to utilize the Third-Party Inspections Application.
Please refer to the Online Guide HERE on more information for how the process will function. To fill out a Third-Party Inspections Application click HERE.
Third-Party Inspections Applications can be sent over to buildinginspections@dekalbcountyga.gov.
