Appointment encouraged and must be scheduled 24 hours prior to property retrieval - please check the link below for availability:

In order to pick up any type of property you must present one of the following:

• Current valid state-issued Driver’s License 
• Current valid state-issued ID Card
• US Military ID Card
• US Passport
• In order to pick up someone else’s property, you must make contact with the arresting officer or detective first.
• If your property was turned in as evidence, items cannot be released unless the arresting officer/detective sends the Property Room an Authorization of Release Letter.

Property not retrieved within 90 days may be disposed of by the Department per state law. 

• All individuals retrieving a firearm must pass a background check 

If you are retrieving an evidence firearm, you must present identification mentioned above along with:

• Officer permission: The arresting officer must first approve the release of your firearm. The officer must send us an Authorization of Release Form.

If you are retrieving a safekeeping firearm, you must present identification mentioned above along with:

• Original sales receipt or other documentation proving ownership of weapon must be shown to arresting officer prior to release

• Convicted of any type of felony
• Convicted of any type of Domestic Violence, Misdemeanor or Felony
• Has an active TPO (Temporary Restraining Order) against them

Walk-ins may wait longer because appointments are handled first; therefore, appointments are encouraged.
