Voter Registration Cancellation |
Upon receipt of such request, the elector's name will be removed from the list of electors and will receive confirmation by written notice by first-class mail sent to the address on the elector's registration records. VoteSafe |
State law requires the public availability of voter lists including names and address of registered voters. In 2009, the Georgia Legislature enacted a bill known as the VoteSafe program to provide for the confidentiality of residence addresses of certain registered voters who have been, or may be, subject to acts of family violence or stalking, or currently reside in a family violence shelter.

Application Materials |
The information provided in the Vote Safe application and accompanying documents are strictly confidential. You should develop a method of storing these materials that protects this confidentiality. Upon acceptance, the voter will have VoteSafe status for four years or until the voter registration is transferred out of your county. At the end of four years, or upon moving out of the county, a voter would need to reapply for the program. Application materials and important information for voters can be found at sos.ga.gov/votesafe. |

Unhoused (Homeless) Voters |
If you are a DeKalb County resident experiencing homelessness, there are several ways to register to vote, even if you do not have a permanent address. If you routinely stay in a place such as a shelter, a church, or the home of a friend or relative, you may use that as your voter registration address. For election mailing purposes only (effective January 1, 2025), utilize the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections office as your mailing address for election purposes only, 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 300, Decatur, GA 30032. Please do not utilize this address for any other mail to be received, as we will not be able to provide mail services outside of election purposes If you do not routinely stay in a place with an address, you may register your voter registration address at the DeKalb County Courthouse, 556 N McDonough Street, Decatur, GA 30030 and (effective January 1, 2025) utilize the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections office as your mailing address for election purposes only, 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 300, Decatur, GA 30032.
