The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office is dedicated to the education of aspiring forensic scientists and allows students to meet the requirements specified by their curriculum. We offer a wide range of competitive, unpaid forensic internships that provide students with the opportunity for hands-on experience in a practical setting. Students will gain exposure to working with chain of custody, evaluating and interpreting evidence, and applying scientific principles to the medico-legal death investigation process. Internships are currently available for students pursuing a Master's degree and are offered in the following departments:
The duration of the Spring 2023 internship are from January 10 to April 20, 2023. The application period for this cycle opens in early October 2022. The official application deadline is December 1, 2022. Applicants are required to provide a current curriculum vitae, transcript, and completed application for consideration.
