The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office is dedicated to the education of aspiring forensic scientists and allows students to meet the requirements specified by their curriculum. We offer a wide range of competitive, unpaid forensic internships that provide students with the opportunity for hands-on experience in a practical setting. Students will gain exposure to working with chain of custody, evaluating and interpreting evidence, and applying scientific principles to the medicolegal death investigation process. The duration of the Fall 2021 internship is from August 23 to December 6, 2021. The application period for this cycle will close on August 2, 2021. Undergraduate students interested in completing a rotation in our office are welcome to inquire about shadowing, which is offered on a single-day basis only.
