PROJECT DELIVERY

The Snapfinger Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion project consists of the following construction phases:


Phase 1:
The first phase of the construction project began in June 2012 with the initiation of site preparation activities that included clearing, grading and rock removal. This phase of the project ended in September 2013.


Phase 2:
Phase 2 of the project is slated to begin in 2015 and is scheduled to be complete in 2018. This phase will consist of final site preparation and construction of the main location, its major processing facilities and the administration building. Power reducing equipment and lighting, as well as processes to minimize chemical and operation costs will also be features incorporated during this phase.


Phase 3:
The final phase of the Snapfinger Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion project will include the construction of an odor controlled enclosed storage for dewatered solids and an energy efficient Influent Lift Station that will increase peak pumping capacity from the existing 73 mgd to 100 mgd. 

 

The Department of Watershed Management is committed to keeping the community apprised of all construction activities throughout the project while minimizing the impact on residents and businesses located in the immediate community.
