The Sanitation Division offers the following services for properly disposing of dead animals:

Monday through Friday - 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Residents can dispose of dead domestic animals at the Animal Crematory. Animals must be double-bagged. Residents must pay a disposal fee of $5 for animals up to 24 lbs., and $10 for animals from 25 – 100 lbs. Only check or money order payments are accepted. All payments should be made payable to – DeKalb County Sanitation Division. Animals over 100 lbs. cannot be processed at the Animal Crematory and can be transported to the Seminole Road Landfill.
Collection on rights of way and roads/ roadkill
Dead animals are collected on county rights of way and roads. To request collection, residents should call 404.294.2900 or email sanitation@dekalbcountyga.gov, providing as much information as possible regarding the location and type of animal to be collected. Collection will occur within 48 hours of the service request date.
Landfill drop off
Animals over 100 lbs. must be transported to the Seminole Road Landfill. All necessary fees must be paid at the landfill, and are based on the following fee schedule:
Securing and preparing the burial site at the landfill - $200
Additional fees based on the animal’s weight:
Up to 999 lbs. - $16.50 • Over 1,000 lbs. - prorated at $33 per ton
