Animal Crematory/ Disposal of Dead Animals

The Sanitation Division offers the following services for properly disposing of dead animals:

DeKalb residents and non-DeKalb residents can dispose of dead domestic animals at the Animal Crematory. Animals must be double bagged. Residents are required to pay a disposal fee of $25 for animals, and non-DeKalb residents a $100 fee. Only check or money order payments are accepted. All payments should be made payable to – DeKalb County Sanitation Division. Animals over 100 lbs. cannot be processed at the Animal Crematory and can be transported to the Seminole Road Landfill.

Collection by veterinary hospitals 
DeKalb residents and non-DeKalb residents can request dead domestic animal collection service by authorized veterinary hospitals. A commercial account must be established for this service. Animals must be double bagged. Disposal fees of $25 for DeKalb County residents and $100 for non-DeKalb residents apply. Animals over 100 lbs. must be transported to the Seminole Road Landfill (see below for instructions).

Collection on rights of way and roads/ roadkill
Dead animals are collected on county rights of way and roads. To request collection, residents should call 404.294.2900 or email sanitation@dekalbcountyga.gov, providing as much information as possible regarding the location and type of animal to be collected. Collection will occur within 48 hours of the service request date.

Landfill drop-off
Animals over 100 lbs. must be transported to the Seminole Road Landfill. All necessary fees must be paid at the landfill, and are based on the following fee schedule:
Securing and preparing the hole at the landfill – base charge of $200

PLUS 
The landfill gate rate - minimum charge of $48 or $95 per ton
