The Sanitation Division offers the following services for properly disposing of dead domestic animals:
On-site at the animal crematory

Monday through Friday - 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
A special collection request is required through one of the following methods - online by clicking here; OR by calling the Customer Care call center at 404-294-2900. Animals must be double bagged and placed curbside for collection, which will occur within 24 hours of the service request date.
Residents will be billed a special collection fee of $5 for animals up to 24 lbs., and $10 for animals from 25 – 100 lbs. Payments by check or money order can be made in person at the Sanitation Division’s administration building; mailed to the Sanitation Division’s administration building (click here for more information); or submitted through our secure drop box (click here for more information). All payments should be made payable to – DeKalb County Sanitation Division.
Collection on rights of way and roads
Dead animals are collected on county rights of way and roads. To request collection, residents should call 404.294.2900 or email email@example.com, providing as much information as possible regarding the location and type of animal to be collected. Collection will occur within 48 hours of the service request date.
Landfill drop off
Animals over 100 lbs. can be transported to the Seminole Road Landfill. All necessary fees must be paid at the Landfill, and are based on the following fee schedule:
Securing and preparing the burial site at the Landfill - $200
Additional fees based on the animal’s weight:
Up to 999 lbs. - $16.50 • Over 1,000 lbs. - prorated at $33 per ton
